Outside-In Partnerships 2016/2017
The OUTSIDE-IN programme is an intensive and high-impact innovation partnership.
We work with companies in a deep and collaborative way to uncover latent innovation challenges and opportunities, co-create new solutions and value propositions and convert these into commercial outcomes, via licensing, spin-outs or joint ventures. While every partnership is tailored to each business, the programme consists of four pillars with supporting innovation services and platforms provided as appropriate. Participants may be eligible for Government grant funding as the partnership and project progresses.
Given the nature of the programme, access is limited to a small number of businesses per annum. We have a number of available openings for 2016/2017.

Hyper Allergenic Peanut Therapy
Innovative treatment for the 3% of the population who suffer from hyper allergenic reactions to peanuts using desensitisation.
Development of a branded treatment program for hyper allergic peanut sufferers.
Licence fee model with ongoing program updates through continued R&D of denaturing process and education.
Mercury Absorption Polymer
A non-toxic polymer that literally sucks mercury out of water and soil in the battle against one of the world’s most reviled pollutants.
The MercuSorb polymer is cheap to produce and affordable for use in large-scale environmental clean-ups and even in removing mercury from large bodies of water.
Contaminated site rehabilitation is a multi billion dollar industry which presents a significant opportunity to monetise this scientific breakthrough.
VFD Continuous Flow Fabrication of Chitosan
Commercial application of the Vortex Fluidic Device (VFD) for the fabrication of Chitosan, the second most abundant naturally occurring polymer widely used in dental medicine.
Chitosan is widely used in dental medicine due to it’s broad spectrum of biological activities including antibacterial activity, bioactive coating and wound healing. Use of the VFD delivers significant efficiencies and a lucrative potential market in this high value specialist material.
Investment partners in the specialist dental polymer field have been identified with plans to scale up production of Chitosan to commercial quantities.
While we do not directly manage collaborative or contract research through our office, we work closely with the Research Services Office, Faculties, Institutes and Research Centres and with individual academics and are more than happy to act as a first point of contact and link you with the knowledge, expertise and facilities to support your R&D and innovation agenda.
